Joie Grandbois is a multidisciplinary performance and dance artist based in Portland, Maine Whether she is using the medium of dance, rhythm or words Joie seeks to bring to life the character present in a creative work.
As a movement teacher she works to create an environment where students can feel comfortable in exploring the boundaries of their dance. She uses techniques to aid dancers in bridging the gap between brain and body to allow a seamless flow from thought to action.
Joie is also a NALA Certified Paralegal working in the field of entertainment law at the Music Law Firm. She has written several articles and taught workshops for performers on the subject of music rights and intellectual property.
She is the founder and director of the street vaudeville performance troupe Dark Follies which formed in 2008 and performs as a solo artist around New England. She teaches dance improvisation and exploratory belly dance in Portland, Maine at Bright Star World Dance.
