Terri joined the Belly Dance Business Academy in 2007 when she was living and teaching belly dance in Chapel Hill, NC. At that point, she was mostly interested in expanding her reach within the local community. She joined the Circle (BDBA membership group) and expanded her classes to 12-15 a week including Egyptian and Tribal Fusion classes for kids, teens and adults. She was the proud director of Happy Hips youth belly dance troupe while she was there. The marketing tips that she learned allowed her to dramatically expand her classes to a local arts center, YMCA, dance studio and university.
Upon moving to MN in 2008, Terri utilized training from the BDBA to establish her first studio, an International Dance Studio offering 20-25 classes a week in dance styles from all over the world. Ultimately, MN proved a much more difficult place to sustain a dance studio and after 3 years Terri closed the studio and moved to another studio to share space. The BDBA provided valuable coaching and support during this move to a new community and exploration into studio ownership.
About 3 years ago, Terri decided to move into business consulting and began working with Carolena Nericcio-Bohlman at FatChanceBellyDance®. The Belly Dance Business Academy Circle members and Julie Eason assisted Terri in the transition to business consultant supporting her as she build her clientele. In the last 3 years, Terri has published a book, a DVD and created an international conference, ATS® Homecoming.
